Who We Are
Data Science Africa (DSA) was founded in 2013 to provide quality training in data science, machine learning, and emerging technologies, with the goal of leveraging these disciplines to develop solutions to Africa's unique challenges.
The organisation was established in response to the limited exposure that students at African universities had to cutting-edge machine learning and data science techniques, as well as the lack of platforms where research addressing African problems using data science could be showcased.

To be Africa's leading network and knowledge hub, advancing an end-to-end ecosystem of training, research, innovation, and value creation in data-centric technologies.
Our Purpose
To empower students, researchers, and communities – including DSA-affiliated centres and DSA local chapters – in data-centric technologies for African solutions, building the capacity of African communities to serve as seeds of local knowledge and innovation hubs.

DSA is a registered non-profit organization since 2019, and is based in Kenya.
